Dear Members:
On behalf of your colleagues in the FSA we would like to invite all members to consider the many interesting opportunities that exist within your union. As your representatives within the workplace our power is heightened when members get involved. We have several fascinating opportunities for any members who is interested in serving and learning. All we ask is a willingness to serve and the curiosity to learn.
These opportunities to serve range from being an FSA representative on a joint committee that take a couple hours a month fully released executive positions such as President, or Chief Steward. Regardless of your interests or your expertise we probably have an opportunity for you.

- Interested in learning more about labour relations at the University?
- Interested in learning how professional development decisions are made?
- Do you want to influence change?
- Do you want to learn more about the Governance of the university?
The FSA represents our members in areas throughout the University we are always looking for curious and passionate members who care about the people who make up UFV. As the outgoing President I invite all members to get involved. I guarantee that you will learn and grow as you serve.
If you are interested in dipping your toe into the water, we have several roles on our many joint committees where you can have a positive impact in areas as diverse as professional development or health and safety. Another option is service as a steward, serving your colleagues as they navigate the world of the collective agreement.
Interested in serving on the FSA executive committee? All executive positions are elected for a two -term. If you are interested in learning more about any of these positions, feel free to check out our website where a description of each position can be found. This year the positions of President, Faculty Chief Steward, Member Engagement VP, and Secretary Treasurer will be coming up for election if you are interested.
