Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee

Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOH&S)
The OH&S committee develops, supports, and maintains health and safety programs, policies, and procedures at UFV in compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations. This committee plays a valuable role in increasing employee participation and awareness in health and safety programs. Job Classification Audit Committee

Have you ever wondered how the JCAC process works and how it impacts staff job descriptions and salary at UFV?
Do you want to learn more about our staff job descriptions and how it relates to our Collective Agreement?
Are you interested in contributing to the FSA through committee work?
Then the Job Classification Audit Committee is for you!
We are looking for one staff member to join the JCAC committee at UFV for a 3-year term. The committee meetings are on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30am on weeks two and four (with a break in July and August). Full training and support are provided for all new members.

Joint Professional Development Committee

The JPDC committee consists of five FSA and five management members. It supports and allocates funding for a wide range of professional development activities for both faculty and staff, ranging from in-service PD and training to educational leaves and sabbaticals. Are you passionate about sustainability and climate action and would you like to join in on advising decisions made at the FPSE level?

Stewards - 1 Faculty
The healthiness of a union greatly depends on the engagement level of the members. What makes unions so effective is the power of a collective voice; of people working together to advocate for worker’s rights, fairness, equity, and all the other good things. As a steward you are the contact person for members in your area, directing them to the collective agreement and helping them understand their rights.
Members to sit on Constitution & Bylaw Committee
The Constitution Review committee is responsible to ensure that proposed changes to the constitution are brought forward to the membership for ratification at the Annual General Meeting each spring. Members of this committee are appointed by the executive on an annual basis.
