FSA Statement on the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation discovery of the remains of 215 children at unmarked site in Kamloops, B.C.

The UFV FSA expresses sincere condolences and prayers to all the families and to the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation impacted by the revelations of the 215 children who never returned home from the Kamloops Indian Residential School. We stand with all who are impacted by these developments and especially those from S’ólh Tém:éxw on whose unceded territories UFV exists. We would remind members of the UFV community to consider how as of April 2021, only 10/94 Calls-To-Action from the Truth & Reconciliation Commission have been completed and how much more needs to be done still to push for reconciliation. Every child matters.
