Happy Pride, everyone!
With the anniversary of the Stonewall riots passed in June, it is soon Vancouver’s time for annual protest and celebration. On Friday August 1st, the Trans March will open the weekend’s festivities. The Dyke March is on Saturday August 2nd, and the Pride Parade in on Sunday August 3rd. Alongside and in between these events, there are many parties and gatherings calling in members of many diverse groups within the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
At a time when queer and trans rights are being challenged and removed, it is so important to keep our voices heard, protect each other, and come together in joy and love. The FSA recognizes the work and efforts of UFV’s Pride Collective and Campus Pride, and honours all of our LGBTQIA2S+ faculty, staff, and students.
